About Dale Tree Farm

In 1980 we started Dale Tree Farm, planting primarily Scotch and White Pine, along with a few Blue Spruce. Our tree sales began in 1986 for $20 for an 8 foot tree.

Martin retired from the US Forest Services in 1993 after 38 years as a research forester at the USDA Laboratory in Delaware, Ohio. Laurel retired in 1996 after a long career as an english teacher at Watkins Memorial High School in Pataskala, Ohio.

We began planting primarily Canaan Fir in 2002 after we improved our fields. We now grow transplants for a year before moving them to the fields. Your 8 foot tree is typically 7 to 8 years old and has been mowed around 4 times per year for weed control. Trees are fertilized and sheared annually.

We now have 12 acres of planted trees and aproximately one thousand 6-10 foot trees.
